DO I NEED AN RV EXTENDED WARRANTY

If there is one thing more stressful than your RV breaking down, it’s worrying how much you will pay later to have it repaired. Especially if you don’t have a stash of cash sitting around while your RV is on repair.

When you own an RV, you can expect anything to happen – breakdowns, mechanical failures, and appliances quitting.  Believe it or not, you’re going to have a fair share of you of “adventures” when it comes to RV repairs. So, what will you do to avoid this?

As an RV owner, you may not realize the variety of options when it comes to extending the coverage for your RV. Look through some RV extended warranty plans in your area. As you may know, while owning an RV can be fun it also comes with liabilities. As much as possible you want to be protected from any financial liabilities that arise throughout your ownership.

So, what is an RV extended warranty? Do you need it? How does it differ from extended services for RVs or insurance? Any extended warranty for your RB is a vehicle service contract between you and the warranty provider. The service plan normally covers repairs after your RV manufacturer’s warranty runs out.
To know whether you need an RV or not, you need to read on and learn its benefits.

You’ll Never Worry About Repairs

An RV extended warranty covers mechanical and electrical breakdowns, and repair on your RV. Depending on your plant, this includes repair cost of slide outs, air conditions, appliances, and water waters.

At this point, you need to understand that there are two types of RV extended warranty: inclusionary and exclusionary.  An inclusionary extended warranty provides coverage for the items specified in the contract while an exclusionary warranty covers everything that is non-maintenance related.

Buying the right type of extended RV warranty will save you from financial liability in case your car needs repair.  Moreover, you won’t have to worry about repairs since the extended service contract will take care of it for you.

It is very economical

Repair cost is constantly increasing. Labor rates nowadays are about $100-$200 per hour. Let’s say a repair can take at least 3-5 hours to finish, that is going to be a lot of money on your side. If you have an extended RV warranty, the company will take care of the repair cost for you.

Imagine not having an RV extended warranty and your car suddenly breaks. If your original warranty has expired, you could end up paying for the entire amount as a whole.

Smart Investment Without Lump Sum Payment

Getting an extend warranty for your RV only requires a monthly payment instead of a huge up-front cost. The cost is less expensive than typical insurance coverage. The best thing about it is that, it is transferable to the new owner. That means, if you have an RV and you have an extended warranty, it automatically transfers to the next owner.  Consequently, the value of your RV will also increase.

Convenience Anytime, Anywhere

A good RV extended warranty is designed to have a ready-made protection in place regardless of your location. Let’s say, if your suddenly breaks down on the road, you simply need to contact a mechanic to rescue your vehicle, diagnose the problem, and get pre-authorization before he starts working.

If the damage is not severe, you can have your RV back in a few hours - having only paid a lesser deductible – and hit the road back. On the other hand, if the diagnosis leads to more complicated problems, the mechanic can take it to the nearest serve center while the RV extended warranty takes care of the mechanic cost.

What type of RV Extended Warranty Do I Need?

There are many factors that you may need to consider to decide on the best type of RV extended warranty. These include the vehicle’s mileage, age, model, make, and value.
Generally, the best type of extended warranty is the Exclusionary Policy since it offers the highest level of coverage you can get for your RV.  It covers the mechanical component on your RV, except for the things listed specifically under the “Exclusions” section of your policy.

What Does RV Extended Warranty Doesn’t Cover?

Since you’re already here, let us explain to you some things that an RV warranty doesn’t cover. Note that while RV extended warranty provides coverage for repair costs, it is not an insurance policy. That means, there are items that it doesn’t cover such as the following:
  • Oil change
  • Tire break
  • Rotation maintenance
  • Window damage
  • Flooring damage
  • Furniture damage
  • Damage to awning materials
  • Many more…
If you want to get an extended warranty for your RV, do not hesitate to call us. Our team can guide you on what type of coverage you should get and how you can make the most of it.
